Use of Email – Mail Policy
X-Journal requires that members register with a valid email address to receive communication from X-Journal regarding their membership. This email address - which must be valid - is used only for a reminder when payment is due, or to announce new X-Journal features. We do not attempt to gather other demographics or any other information about you.
X-Journal and it parent webExpeditions.net, and members of X-Journal, use email in many ways to communicate to people who have expressed interest in receiving such communication. Expedition teams that use our services potentially have the option to create mailing lists that tie into their X-Journal so visitors can track the expedition via email instead of the web, we sponsor the Expedition News monthly highlights via email list management, and certain components of the x-journal.com and webExpeditions.net sites or client sites may employ an auto responder to verify we've received communication received through the web.
Any recurring lists are opt-in only, and we do not purchase or externally populate the email addresses in any list.
Email to members of these lists will originate from the address autopilot at webexpeditions dot net or autopilot at x-journal dot com, and show that same address as a reply-to address. Replies to this address get forwarded to the x-journal.com webmaster for review. If for any reason an unsubscribe request fails or appears to fail, a note can be sent to either autopilot at x-journal dot com or support at x-journal dot com requesting to be removed from future mailings.
X-Journal or its parent webExpeditions.net does not sell or rent any of these lists to any other party. However, expedition teams also have access to lists associated with their own project, and so an address could also fall under that team's email policy as well.
It is not our intention to contribute to the problem of "spam", and all legitimate email originating from x-journal.com should be clearly marked with an unsubscribe option. Any issues encountered regarding receiving or being removed from one of our lists can be directed to support at x-journal dot com.
Online Advertisements
X-Journal will not employ popup or popunder ads, or require members to display any advertisements sold by X-Journal.
