Voyage to Pitcairn
01 October 2001
Pitcairn Island is a place with a fascinating history that, by virtue of the fact that it can be reached only by sea, has maintained its "remoteness" even in today's modern times. Few individuals or families ever have the chance to visit this distant outpost. Captains Sean Bercaw, who first visited the island with his family in 1972, and Bill Hallstein developed the concept of the Voyage to Pitcairn Island, an effort combining sailing, education, and research from Woods Hole to Pitcairn, and back home by way of Cape Horn. \n\nExpedition Site\n
