Team Kingfisher
16 January 2003
The concept is simple - to circumnavigate the globe in the fastest time possible under sail. The teams can compete in any size or type of sailing yacht and start when they like. The start and finish line runs between the Lizard Point on the south-west coast of England and the island of Ushant off the coast of Brittany, France. The route is via the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leewin and Cape Horn. Team Kingfisher, skippered by Ellen Macarthur, will attempt to break the existing record of 64 days, 8:34:27 set by orange in 2002.\n\nExpedition Site\n
