Bikes on Ice
20 February 2003
In 1900, two remarkable one thousand mile bicycle trips forever shaped Klondike Gold Rush legend. Max Hirschberg and Ed Jesson had dreams of striking it rich on the "gold-lined" beaches of Nome when they decided to ride a bicycle from Dawson City in the dead of winter. Upon research the team of Kevin Vallely and Andy Sterns realized that no one had ever successfully repeated these famous journeys. To do it was a challenge they found irresistible. BIKES ON ICE is their adventure.\n\nExpedition Site\n
