Our dinner at the 'castle' with Duke of Devonshire was a big success. All the guests were pleased with our short speeches. We even managed to look presentable despite the last minute A/V crisis that ate up most of the extra time we had at the Chattam Hotel to change into more formal attire. Somehow, we managed to get showered and dressed in only 10 minutes. The only real hitch was the fact that my tux pants were about 80 sizes to large and I had to tie my cumber bun in a tight knot to hold them up. Nice.

You can take a kid out of the mid west but...

I wanted to share a few quotes from the evening (things I don't normally hear in a typical day):

'What is your favorite tapestry?'

'Eric, you'll be sitting next to the Duke'

'Don't bump into the Renoir'

'Would you like more champagne, sir?'

'Sir'

Also thought I would post this picture to actually verify the fact that I do sometimes wear clothes other than long underwear. From the left: Doug Oppenheim, yours truly and Jeremy Rogers (both South Pole clients and my gracious hosts during my short stay).
